This is the week that I begin my detox diet to flush out all those toxins in my body while shedding those holiday pounds. My partner in crime is my sister Christine–this is the third year we will be doing it together, and we always begin at the new year. Right now we’ve set a goal to do it for a week, we’ll see how we are feeling at the end of the week and how many pounds we’ve lost. Last year, we did it for two weeks and I lost six pounds–not bad. And let me mention that I kept it off. A lot of people think I’m a little crazy to do this and don’t quite understand what you have to do. It’s hard to explain and you need to get the book, “The pH Miracle” to understand everything. But here’s a quick run down: all the food you eat (or I should say drink) is green, electron-rich and juiced. You have to drink one liter of water for every 30 pounds you weigh. You can’t eat any carbs (like breads or pastas) or dairy and fat comes from oils. Anyway, you can eat as much as you want and you do feel full but it’s a liquid full. So, right now I’m enjoying my avocado shake for lunch and it’s actually pretty tasty!
